The Ethical Humanist Society of Asheville appreciates your contributions to the Society. Members pledge to help support ongoing programs and generous gifts have funded holiday gifts for needy children, Asheville City Schools scholarships, refugees, and other programs providing for those in need as directed by the EHSAsheville Board.

Membership Pledge/ Dues

By becoming a member, you help us reach our goal: to inspire ethical living and to create a more just, loving and sustainable world for all.

Membership helps pay for the direct costs of our society as well as support several local non-profits aligned with our goal. Members also vote on key Ethical Humanist Society of Asheville policies and elect our Board of Directors.

As a member, we ask for a minimum (tax-deductible) gift/donation of $50 per person per year.  Many members give more. We do not turn away prospective members for financial reasons; please contact our president should this pertain to you.

  • Homeward  Bound,
  • Martin Luther King Jr Association of Asheville and Buncombe County,

  • The YMI Cultural Center – To elevate Black communities through cultural, economic and leadership development activities.

  • Just Economics; Beloved Asheville, Crop Walk.

Endowment Gift Designation

Endowment Fund gifts help provide a continuing source of funds. We withdraw 4% of our endowment fund each year to supplement our social action gifts and scholarships.

Endowment Fund gifts are often used to recognize a special event or person. Please use the optional PayPal notation capability to further specify a gift “in memory of” or “in honor of” an individual. The gift and gift notation will be recognized at a meeting of the EHSAsheville members.
