Michael read an essay about the sinking of the Titanic whereby the author claimed it was because of distraction, not arrogance. Less than an hour before the collision, the Titanic’s radio operator received a call from a ship surrounded by ice and was too busy to respond or pay attention. We all know what happened. What a striking metaphor for our time. Everyone resides in a “Matrix of Distraction.” How we cope matters.
